A couple of years ago, I volunteered at a hospice. My job at the time was very toxic and it was making feel guarded, not caring.
Yet, I wouldn’t quit because the chaos afforded career opportunities that were hard to come by.
In facing other people’s impending death and the anxieties that often come with it, actually helped me renew my purpose for life and restore empathy.
And remembered that every great job will replace you if you die.
